Thoof Rank
Everyone by now if you have read the blog recently has heard of Thoof. It has become my homepage for one reason alone. Never ending news stories. Now your thinking but Luby other sites have tons of news, and you don’t make such a big deal out of them. True. However this is different. Using some sort of web magic, no matter how far you scroll down new stories just keep coming. Not just random stories, personalized news, ones that are custom tailored for you. When you sign up for Thoof the site gets to know what interests you and then pulls stories from its vast library and displays them. I was on the site a few days ago and noticed this amazing little web trickery for the first time. I was just scrolling down and noticed, wait a second. More stuff just keeps coming. I don’t have to press the next page button or anything. Plus you can scroll right back up to the top of the page no problem.
Another cool thing they have over there is this little rank badge you can place on your posts. When you submit news to the site you can include a little badge on your site that shows how popular/interesting your story is to the thoof user base. It presents this data in percents. So if your story gets a 50% that means its a pretty average story. Nifty.
