Tents

I am currently putting together a list of things that we need for camp this summer. I am going to do something fun with camp outs this year. I am setting up a cool old looking camp ground for the younger kids to experience. Canvas Wall tents, old lanterns, and other things that will bring […]

Supply

Something I realized when we were out at the ranch this weekend is that sometimes when you don’t have some supplies on hand you can’t just go get more easily. As you know we are about 45 minutes out from the city, so that makes it a little hard. So when you run out of […]

Got the Time?

Anyone have the time. What time is it? Is probibly the most annoying thing to be asked or to have to ask. Back in May when we were doing our family camps I didn’t yet have a watch and I was always asking people, my staff what time it was. I knew it was so […]

Loss of power

Sometimes you don’t realize how much you rely on electricity until it’s gone. This summer at camp we lost power for about 2 hours because lightning struck a pole somewhere on the ranch. Power went out all over, cabins, buildings, lights etc. The rain meant we couldn’t go on the hike as planed so what […]

A Short

Work begins

So starting Monday it all starts up again. I look at things like August is January. This is the new year. This begins the leadup to summer 2008. The treehouses have begun construction and there is so much new stuff ahead. It is pretty exciting. We all meet back up Monday at camp to meet.

Over

The official camp season is over for 2007. It was probibly the most challenging work experience ever but at the same time there was plenty of time to enjoy the experience. Also it was a learning experience that taught me a lot about managing people, fun, and moral. I am far from being great at […]

8 days

Only 8 days (give or take and depending on how you count them) until camp is over. It has been a realy nice summer, but at the same time it has been probibly one of the hardest summers. This time around there was a lot more on my plate than I am used to but […]

The Home Stretch

I don’t like counting down the days until camp is over. Really, because it is actually more depressing than exciting for me. Actually I take that back, it happens to be a little of both. I am excited that camp has gone so well and that we are nearly done. On the other hand its […]

Sundays at camp

Today is another one of those weird days at camp where things aren’t exactly the same as the days before it. Sundays are a different schedule. They wake up later, there is breakfast then church then a different class schedule. It is a bit weird for me, a creature of habit and rutine. But it […]
