I forget what it is like to randomly get something nice in the mail, or deceived directly to my doorstep. Not to long ago I received some nice things from my parents. They sent me a bunch of stuff (a full box full) for my house. It was so nice and really filled the need. I got to thinking what is something nice that I could do in return. I haven’t ever sent flowers before but I think it would be a nice thing for their house. My mom especially would enjoy them and I know she would keep them right there, front and center. I don’t get to do things like this because they live sooooo far away. Luckily flora2000.com delivers to those soooo far away places. Like as in over 150 different countries. With a ton of stuff to pick from. For instance I was looking over the site to see what I could send over and found these great Columbian Roses and a very nice Gourmet California Basket. While I haven’t exactly figured the right thing yet, I know If I spend a little more time on the site I will find exactly the right thing to say what I want to say. Thanks mom (and dad) for sending me the stuff for my house.
I had updated my flickr to show some of the pictures from this past month. I got to participate in a Haunted House for halloween. I was a crazy person, which was a stretch. It was fun, the spook house was mostly just a load of cliche horror elements and followed a very loose “haunted high school theme.” It was fun though, and will most likely do it again next year if they ask me to.

Dawn and Drew had a film fest and the call was for movies about finding something dead. This didn’t win but should have, it is hilarious. You defiantly need to watch this.
I just got done watching the trailer for The Mist by Stephen King and It really got me thinking about a time last year when I was on my solo backpacking trip in the rockies.
I started off early in the morning so that I could make it up and over the continental divide before any afternoon storms could roll in and threaten my trek all together. I made it up to the top around 9 in the morning and that is when I looked north and saw this happening.
Yep, thats clouds rolling over the tops of the mountains like it was water. Ok it is water but more accurately it was a fine mist. I then looked ahead of me and saw what I was fearing, clouds coming towards me and at this point in my trip I am the tallest thing besides rocks and small rodents.
It was freaky, it just came and surrounded me and I was worried about going forward, because the trail disapeared in front of me. I did make it to the top and over just fine and This is what it looked like once I reached the top.
Not exactly the glorious summit picture I had hoped for but at the same time the mist was very ominous, and a little scary.
Which brings me back to this whole newStephen King’s The Mist thats coming out soon. It’s genuinly freaky.
I think what makes it scary is that the mist, and storms are all something that we all have a history with, and are scared of. We feel helpless when it happens. The movie looks great, plus its being directed by the same dude that did the Shawshank Redemption, and the Green Mile.
It looks great, see the trailer for your self and see what happens when you get caught up in the mist.
The WGA went on strike today, so that means reality tv will be back and horray! Wait no, the other thing boo!! Come on studios, if you pay writers for when their products air on tv, why are you holding out for when you send it over the interwebs. You run ads on the site, you bring something in. You have to, and need to pay them for it. Tina Fey, joined the picket line today. And I am sure others will follow.

I think of all the stuff in the world that gets me excited about the holidays is great deals on tech. When I was back in Dallas we would (me and dad and whoever brave enough to come with us, sit in lines or move through the masses) go to a big super tech store and try to get in on all the deals and bargains they were offering for that one day only. It always ended up us never getting what we went there for and walking away with something lame like printer paper. Once I remember going after a cheap digital camera and by the time I go to the store it was gone.
So today, that excited feeling returned when I came across techbargains.com The place is just full of these deals that made me want to jump into the car as a kid and bust a move to the store. It’s easy to use, plus you can set up a email alert so that when sweet new stuff hits the site you can be notified quickly about it so you can jump on it. They also make the shopping for tech products easier since they have reviews and comparisons right there on the site so you can do your research and shopping at the same place. Basically if you like tech, and you buy tech, and you are not going to tech bargains to find the tech you want at the best prices, your…ummm…never mind.

Google made a big announcement today, I think we all expected this but it came down today at noon. It basically announced Android, an open phone os. It could seriously shake things up. Read the coverage over at one of the big gadget blogs, my favorites are gizmodo and engadget.
Everyone has this problem. Your cd that has some really important information on it has gone bad. Scratched all over and unplayable. This is a great tutorial on how you can fix this problem using something you may not have thought was possible to use.
